Record sleeve restoration

For vinyl record audiophiles, the primary objective is a high-quality listening experience; however, for many collectors the overall package is important too. When buying second-hand records, both the vinyl and its accompanying sleeve are usually graded separately, most commonly on the descending scale of:
mint, near mint, very good, good, fine, and poor.

In addition to our vinyl restoration services, Revivinyl offers album cover and single picture sleeve refurbishment. While we do not position this service as guaranteeing an increased record sleeve grading or value, we can enhance the aesthetic appeal of the record’s overall appearance.

Album cover, album inner sleeve, and single picture sleeve
repair services that we offer include:

Regluing detached sleeves (cover and inner).

Fixing tears and holes (glue, invisible tape, paper/card filler).

Removing surface grime and sticky labels (isopropanol).

Repairing scrapes, gaps, worn-out sections of the image (acrylic paint, permanent marker).

Covering writing (liquid paper, acrylic paint, permanent marker).

For irreparable sleeves – excessively worn, water-damaged, large sections missing etc. – we can create and print a full-size replacement, matte or gloss finish, and securely attach this over the existing cover. This service is subject to the availability of a high-quality image of the cover.

Pricing

Pricing for record sleeve restoration is between £1 and £20, dependent upon the condition of the cover and the amount and type of repair required. For a free indicative quote, please contact us. We will assess the sleeve damage – this can be remote, via shared photos – agree with you on the repair services that we will undertake, and cost the service accordingly.
